A Personal Reflection on Fiber Foundations: Embracing Growth and Community
As I sit down to write this, with the cart for Fiber Foundations reopening, I can’t help but reflect on this incredible journey. Looking back to when the idea of this course came to be, I’m filled with a sense of gratitude and awe at how much I have grown—not just as a creator but also as a person.
Collaborating with the immensely talented Emily Caroline has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Together, we set out to create a space where creativity could flourish without the intimidation of fiber lasers. It’s amazing to think about the fears and doubts I had when I first started working with this technology. Today, I find joy in helping others transform those same fears into confidence.
The response from our community has been nothing short of extraordinary. I delight in seeing the projects that our students share, each one a beautiful reflection of their hard work and newfound skills. It’s a testament to the power of stepping outside one’s comfort zone. Watching fellow creatives embrace their journey and produce remarkable work fills me with pride and joy. It reminds me of my own path and the importance of supporting one another in our creative endeavors.
As I look to the future, I am committed to continuing this growth—not just for myself, but for all of you. Emily and I are excited to expand Fiber Foundations, adding more resources and insights to further enrich your experience. I truly believe that education is a lifelong journey, and I’m thrilled to walk that path alongside each of you.
