Momma to Maker to Momma Maker Shop Owner!

Ever since I was a young girl I knew I wanted to be a stay at home Momma while finding a way to support my family through working from home. This led me to become an Early Childhood Educator, I love kids and can care for them along with me own. Being an ECE also taught me how to make things instead of buy them because being an ECE you do it for the love of kids, not for the money! So, I learned how to make teaching supplies and crafts, and I enjoyed it!

Fast forward a few years, I am running my own home based childcare program, no kids of my own because I wanted to have a business of my own. I meet the most amazing man who I am going to spend the rest of my life with. And guess what! He supports my staying home with our kids (maybe that childcare business helped with that)! The luxury of staying home with your kids does come with sacrifice, so I continued to learn how to make all the things. When we decided to homeschool, I purchased the Silhouette Cameo, and began making learning supplies and more crafts. That little machine brought me through 9 years of making anything and everything it was capable of and trying different sales venture

s but none of them felt just right for me. I wanted to make gifts and decor that would last.

After a few years of being a Foster Momma (& family) we were facing the toughest goodbye ever when the twins we had loved from 7 weeks to 15 month were being reunified with their amazing mom. I began looking for ways to keep my mind busy to distract my heart. Enter, Glowforge! One look at that machine and all it was capable of and my brain began creating all sorts of amazing projects before I even had the machine. In June 2020 Jetson (what I named my Glowforge) arrived and Humble Hippo Designs was off and running!  Jetson was quickly retired once business picked up and now I am running a Mira Redline, as well as added a Fiber Laser to my fleet.
Making gifts that Matter is where my creativity runs through.

Hippos are solid and strong like the products we create. **there may also be a backstory to my boyfriend, now husband, calling me a hippo...just ask!**

Humble is what I always strive to be. Any talents I do have are gifts from God and I hope that everything created brings honor and glory to Him.

Thank you so much for stopping by Humble Hippo Designs.
